    Download & Validate Utility

MONSSTR Download and Validate Utility (DVU) was developed to facilitate the transfer of data between a
MOdular Non-volatile Selectable STorage Recorder (MONSSTR®) and a PC running Windows® NT 4.0, 2000, or XP.  This program provides both Fibre Channel and an ECL interfaces for data transfer.

The DVU facilitates transfer of data both from the MONSSTR to the PC and from the PC to the MONSSTR using the Fibre Channel interface).  The DVU supports Fibre Channel glass and Fibre Channel copper and can be used with a Fibric Switch as well as downloading to a RAID.

The DVU also supports transferring data from a MONSSTR to a PC using an ECL interface, but does not support transferring data from the PC to the MONSSTR. The PC must have a CALCULEX PBIF PCI interface card.

The PBIF interface runs under Windows NT 4.0 and requires the PBIF Utility V1.5 software.  The DVU application uses the PBIF device driver installed with the PBIF Utility.

The DVU validation function facilitates IRIG 106 Chapter 10 validation of already downloaded files.  Chapter 10 header format and packet format are validated; however packet data is not validated.
