The RIPR brand line of recorders offered by CALCULEX includes the RIPR Models 1201/1401, the 1402 and 1403 NAS, the RIPR 2600L (Lab)/2600 R (Rugged), and the RIPR Model 2300. These recorders are designed for use in a variety of applications, from unmanned systems and commercial aircraft to military aircraft and flight test operations.

The RIPR Models 1201/1401 are small, rugged, multi-channel recorders that feature the industry standard CFast 3.0 removable memory, an open standard IRIG 106 Chapter 10 Packet Data Recording Format, and compliance with IRIG 106 Chapter 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. These models allow for input power from 5VDC or 28VDC and include command control options such as Ethernet/COAP, serial communication, and discrete.  Time sync options include IRIG B AM/DC, MIL-STD-1553, IEEE-1558, and GPS Receiver.

The 1201 offers a set group of data types based on model number.

 

RIPR 1401

The 1401 is our first user-expandable data system offering Stackable Modules to support up to 4 Data Acquisition modules. Module choices include:

  • 8 Ch MIL-STD 1553
  • 8 Ch RS-422 or Serial PCM
  • 32 Channels RS-232 UART Receive
  • 8 Channels of SD Video
  • 16 Channels of ARINC 429 Receive

The controller offers:

  • 2 channels of 1 Gb Ethernet, with 1 channel capable of Ethernet publish
  • 1 channel of MIL-STD 1553
  • 2 channels of RS-422 PCM at 20 Mbps
  • 2 Channels of RS-422 PCM output programmable to support IRIG -106 CH 7 TM
  • Ethernet Over Serial Streaming (EOSS) HDLC TM Downlink, or RS-422 PCM output

The CFast Drives are available for the 1401 in 256 GB, 512GB, or 1 TB capacities.

 

RIPR Models 1402/1403

These are small, rugged, multi-channel recorders that features NVMe based SSD Removable Memory Modules, an open standard IRIG 106 Chapter 10 packet data recording format for the 1402 and a network file system format with the 1403 network attached storage.

Both comply with IRIG 106 Chapter 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11. This model allows for input power from 5VDC or 28VDC and includes command control options such as Ethernet/COAP, serial communication, MIL-STD 1553, and discrete.

Time sync options include IRIG B AM/DC, MIL-STD-1553, IEEE-1558, and GPS Receiver. They are offered with RMM capable of AES -256 Encryption.

The controller offers:

  • 4 Channels of 1 Gb Ethernet with 1 channel capable of Ethernet publish
  • 2 Channels of MIL-STD 1553
  • 2 Channels of RS-422 PCM at 20 Mbps
  • 2 Channels of RS-422 PCM output programmable to support IRIG -106 CH 7 TM
  • Ethernet Over Serial Streaming (EOSS) HDLC TM Downlink, or RS-422 PCM output.

Up to 4 Data Acquisition modules can be added with data choices including:

  • 8 Ch MIL-STD 1553
  • 8 Ch RS-422 or Serial PCM
  • 32 Channels RS-232 UART Receive
  • 8 Channels of SD Video
  • 16 Channels of ARINC 429 Receive

 

RIPR 2600L

This is a 19-inch rack-mount multi-purpose recorder/router/reproducer designed for laboratory or control room environments. The RIPR 2600R is a rugged MIL-STD qualified multi-purpose recorder/router/reproducer designed for airborne or other demanding data collection environments.

Both offer a wide array of I/O channels and local and/or remote data storage and retrieval media. The 2600s comply with applicable sections of IRIG Standard 106 Chapters 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11.

Its aggregate media data rate can reach up to 1600MB/Sec, and its users can access:

  • Analog and digital HD video with audio recording
  • MIL-STD-1553 and 16PP194
  • PCM/UART/PULSE to 30Mbps
  • 10/100/1000 and 10G Ethernet
  • Fiber channel 1G/2G/4G
  • ARINC 429 and 708, as well as command and control options such as Ethernet, serial COMM, MIL-STD-1553, and discrete
